One of the UK’s most successful fund managers has warned that the eurozone is not viable in its current form.
Neil Woodford, who set up his own investment fund last year, said that the concept of treating Greece like Germany was “fundamentally flawed”.
In addition, Mr. Woodford said that continuing uncertainty over Britain’s EU membership could hit the UK economy, particularly in an election year.
In an interview with BBC World News, he said that the threat of an in-out referendum on the UK’s EU membership will put a “brake on external investment”.
The promise from the Conservative Party is that the referendum would only take place after David Cameron had attempted to renegotiate the terms of the UK's membership of the EU, if he is still prime minister after May’s election.
